Review: Apple Smart watch

Image
Introduction The smartphone world was turned upside down with the introduction of the original iPhone. In just a matter of a couple of hours, it undoubtedly pushed things forward into new heights that hadn’t been obtained before – seemingly putting all other smartphones before it in the dust; outdating them in the process. the Apple Watch, the company’s ambitious take on the modern smartwatch, which has yet to see a champion that rises above all others. Indeed, we can mention a few models from the Android Wear camp that have piqued our interest, but for the most part, there’s still not a single, dominant one that can transform the smartwatch’s reputation from a want, to a necessity. Can the Watch achieve that? Knowing Apple’s track record, we’re confident that it’s plausible, but at the end of the day, it’ll need to prove to all of us that it can. Today, April 24, is the official launch of the long awaited Apple Watch. As we  reported  yesterday the Watch will be sold exclusively online until Apple can meet the demand. Indeed Apple Watch is only available for purchase online as of today, but it is on backorder. Fortunately, the Apple Watch is available for testing and exploring at Apple Store Retail, so at least you can see it live before making a decision. Apple also included a detailed sizing guide for those of you who can't go to an Apple Retail Store. You can learn more about the Apple Watch editions at the official Apple Store page. If you want one, you should hurry up as the shipping may soon change to July or August. Hopefully Apple won’t introduce a successor this September.

Apple Watch pre-orders open

Image
The Apple Watch is here! Kind of. Pre-orders are now open online, which is honestly not as exciting as waiting in line for days in anticipation of the next big thing. However, the actual watches will take weeks, and for most people more than a month to arrive, as shipping times are surprisingly long. Apple Watch Sport ships in June (!) Apple Watch (stainless steel) shipping times are four to six weeks Apple Watch Edition shipping times vary between models from July to August (!!) Hey, but if you want to order a band without the watch it will arrive quicker: it only takes 2 to 4 weeks for most bands to ship. Some ship in May (classic buckle), and others are simply not available yet (modern buckle). You can pre-order an  Apple Watch at the Apple Store here  (external link)

Sony SmartWatch 3 review: One of the Value Smartwatch

Image
Sony's SmartWatch series has been steadily improving from the ugly first generation and the third is certainly the best looking to date. The new wearable comes in two main configurations. The first is the sporty edition which comes with a black or luminous green rubber strap (other straps can be bought separately) which doesn't feel cheap and is comfortable to wear on your wrist. The strap is easily adjustable but despite its sporty looks, I found playing football with it was not a good idea as it continually came loose. The second is the steel version which comes with a link system which looks much more like a traditional watch. It is obviously slightly heavier but nonetheless still comparatively lightweight. You will need to take the steel version to a jewellers however, as there is no tool included to easily add or remove the links to make it fit comfortably. Sony has ported its ability to waterproof electronics from its Xperia smartphones and tablets to the Smart...

The company announced the ONE TOUCH WATCH at CES . This nifty little gadget is a no nonsense wearable that will work with an iPhone or Android smartphone, and in addition to providing 3-to-5 days of battery life, it also comes in at just $149. While the ONETOUCH Watch brings a traditional form factor for a watch, it also houses the necessary features to provide the wearer with a supplement to his or her smartphone, rather than be an outright replacement. The interface is strai...
