Apple has trade-in program for Android users in the works

According to a report in 9to5Mac, Apple will soon launch a trade-in program for users of non-iOS smartphones. The new venture will aim to boost the Cupertino giant’s already healthy iphone sales.
he trade-in program will primarily focus on Android and BlackBerry smartphone users. Upon trading their devices, the latter will receive gift cards that can be used towards the purchase of an iPhone.
Apple Store employees will be in charge of determining the value of the traded smartphones. It will be based on the “cosmetic and functional condition” of the device.
Apple’s program is tipped to launch in the weeks ahead. The company’s retail employees will receive extensive training, which will allow them to help customers transfer contacts from their old smartphone to their shiny new iPhone.

Leak: Xiaomi Mi5 rumored...It come with a 5.2" Quad HD display

Xiomi's  the next flagship Mi5 is expected to get officially unveiled some time in the summer, but alleged real-life images and performance benchmarks of the handset have already leaked out. What's left to know, basically, are the actual specs, but now that space has been eventually filled, too, courtesy of the Chinese tech blogosphere. The Xiaomi Mi5 is expected to sport a 5.2" display, the whopping 4 GB of RAM, and a Snapdragon 810 chipset. The rest of the rumored specs sound like a dream come true for any Xiaomi fan, too - a 16 MP camera with an OIS system to keep it steady, a fingerprint scanner embedded in the home key, and at least a 3000 mAh battery.  This is all in the speculation pipeline, though, while the Chinese tech blogger only confirms the 5.2" display with Quad HD resolution for the Mi5. Apple Inc. plans to introduce a trade-in program for iPhones in China, people familiar with the effort said, after a similar program bolstered sales in the U.S. Consumers will be able to take older iPhones to Apple stores in China for credit against the company’s products as soon as March 31, the people said, asking not to be identified as the details aren’t public. Foxconn Technology Group will buy and re-sell the phones as part of the program, one of the people said. Natalie Kerris, an Apple representative, didn’t respond to a request for comment. Foxconn declined to comment. Chief Executive Officer Tim Cook has said China is poised to overtake the U.S. as Apple’s biggest market, and he’s working to about double the number of stores in Greater China by the middle of next year.
